  Position Summary

  The Sr. Director, Sales, Emergency Medicine reports to the Vice President, Sales and is a key member of the global commercial team. This role works closely with leadership teams in Emergency Medicine and leads the Americas sales organization. The position responsibilities include, development and execution of commercial strategies, exhibiting an in-depth understanding of the market, establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships and working closely with all functions to drive profitable revenue growth and customer satisfaction. This leader will evolve the organizational structure to support the business strategy, develop and manage key business processes and focus the organization on achieving its objectives of driving significant growth.

  Reporting into this role is the team of Regional Sales Managers. Products supported include our life-saving Arrow® EZ-IO® Intraosseous Vascular Access System and Z-Medica hemostatic products (QuikClot®, QuickClot Control+®) medical devices.

  Principal Responsibilities

  • Achieve revenue, growth, and gain market share targets through sales and marketing partnership and execution.

  • Develop and implement a strategy that leads to increased customer value creation and market share gain within the designated geography.

  • Work with Global business leaders to build long term strategies that includes products and workflow solutions to specific customer segments. Must also ensure that strategies define how we approach regions channels and competitors and pricing.

  • Balance the need to achieve current business goals with planning and investment for future growth.

  • Build a high performing team with accountability for excellence.

  • Lead and develop the sales teams to build capability and competence with a focus on improving individual selling capability, broadening the technical competence of the field team and leadership capability of sales managers.

  • Advocate for the customer, for product quality and compliance and provides excellence in customer solutions.

  • Leads the activities of the team, sets goals, develop and access activity and sales metrics to meet growing objectives.

  • Engages with local and regional resources to enable realization of AEM goals.

  • In partnership with Marketing and Commercial Operations, develop pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, for high-profile customers and partners.

  • Prepare annual and quarterly budgets and staffing plans for the commercial organization that supports the business’ strategic plans.

  • Provide input on market trends and customer feature/product requests for new product development.

  • Develop, implement, and share standard methodologies across all regions to deliver success.

  • Build collaborative partnerships with functional support areas.

  • Create and foster a culture consistent with Teleflex Core Values.

  • Work closely with Marketing, Product Development, Demand Planning, and Quality teams to communicate and meet customer needs.

  • Direct and support sale strategy in achieving access and compliance within Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), hospital alliances, and proprietary chains.

  • Interface and develop relationship with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and senior level decision makers within targeted GPOs and hospital alliances..

  • Participate in the assessment of new products, both those in development by Teleflex and the area of in-licensing

  • Assist in the planning and execution of the annual North American Kick Off meeting, regional sales trainings and new product launch meetings.

  Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university. MBA preferred.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a sales Director role within Medical Devices

  • Experience in the hospital sales with the ED and Trauma call points preferred.

  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, strategic selling, negotiating, presentation and financial/business acumen.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and in writing

  • Proven ability to deal with difficult problems or issues; an ability to provide a balanced perspective that optimizes the trade-offs between the business financials, the business opportunities, the company strategy, and the external environment.

  • Ability to operate within a matrix structure, prior experience working in large corporate environment, or a diversified, complex organization is required.

  • Proven track record in medical device sales management.

  Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Strong leadership with ability to influence, inspire and lead change.

  • Experience with selecting, developing and coaching sales managers.

  • Ability to create a positive team environment with people of diverse backgrounds

  • Ability to collect, compile, and analyze data and information in order to create documents such as business plans, operating budgets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Proficiency in computer and business software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Ability to spend a significant amount of time (65%+) traveling within region and across the U.S.

  • Must be able to establish and maintain vendor credentials (via RepTrax, Vendormate, etc.) to have the ability to enter and work, as required, in hospitals and other medical facilities, as an essential function of the job. Depending on customer/site requirements, vendor credentials may require the employee to obtain the COVID-19 vaccination.
