The Senior Design Coordinator will join our design team and assist in the design, drafting, and coordination of complete sets of architectural design drawings for large multifamily developments including apartments, hotels, and towers. This position will be located in Campbell River - British Columbia, Edmonton - Alberta or Winnipeg - Manitoba.
Your contributions to the team:
Build and manage full BIM models of large multifamily buildings using Revit software
Prepare Architectural Drawings for Development Permit Application with assistance by others
Assist the Design Supervisor and Architect in designing and detailing building elements
Detail full sets of architectural drawings for Building Permit and Construction purposes.
Coordinate design drawings with external consultants including security consultants, code consultants, electrical engineers, mechanical designers, structural engineers, and more.
Work with the Architect to define and explain design requirements through presentation.
Complete internal reviews of other design projects for quality control and internal support.
Attend internal and external project meetings on behalf of the design department.
Provide weekly design updates to Design Supervisor and General Manager
Complete Construction Administration including shop drawing review, responding to RFI’s, etc.
Assist in construction conflict resolution by providing design and coordination assistance.
Assist in updating typical details and model groups
What you need to be successful:
Minimum Diploma or Certificate in Architecture or Engineering Technology
ASCT with ASTTBC or similar designation an asset
Completion of Technology diploma from T.R.U. or B.C.I.T. seen as an asset
Degree in Architecture or Engineering an asset
Red Seal Trade certificate an asset
Experience with wood frame construction mandatory
3-5 years’ experience in residential design
3-5 years’ experience using REVIT to prepare architectural design drawings
Site experience an asset
Strong understanding of Revit BIM modelling software
Strong understanding of architectural drawing layout and standard presentation.
Strong understanding of wood frame construction
Ability to work in a faced paced environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to Prioritize projects and work to meet conflicting deadlines
