Location Description Post Consumer Brands corporate headquarters in Lakeville, Minn. is about 20 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Lakeville has all the benefits of smaller town living with access to everything a large metropolitan area has to offer. Responsibilities Do you see patterns or opportunities in data that others don’t see? Do you enjoy asking questions and analyzing data to deepen your knowledge? Do you like to challenge historical assumptions and recommend new ways to drive action based on data driven insights? Do you like to find innovative ways to tackle a problem and share the approach with others? As a senior data scientist at Post Consumer Brands, you will be responsible for identifying business problems and opportunities in close collaboration with business teams, designing and implementing solutions, and communicating insights to stakeholders. You will also mentor junior data scientists and ensure the quality and reliability of their work. You will be a self-starter, able to build from the ground up leveraging your experience. Working Location: Hybrid This role is located at the Lakeville, MN Corporate office Typical hybrid schedule includes 3 days in-office with remote flexibility up to 2 days a week. Major Job Activities and Duties: You will be at the forefront of setting up a Data Science capability at Post Consumer Brands Working closely with Post Holdings to leverage the current tool set and standards already established in this space. You will have an opportunity to make a significant impact to build the next-generation data products for PCB. Discover insights through data analysis to support business development and enterprise strategies and lead change across the company to adopt data science practices. Partner with leaders in finance, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and marketing to understand and prioritize the highest-value business problems and opportunities and creating data science applications with quantifiable revenue lift, cost reduction/avoidance, and/or efficiency gain. Formulate, propose, manage, and deliver data-driven projects that align with the business objectives and strategies. Collect, clean, and analyze data from various sources and prepare it for modeling and visualization. Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to generate predictions and insights, informing better decision-making and value creation for the business. Responsible for ML Ops and model Do post-mortem analyses and evaluate analytics and modeling outputs for accuracy continuously and adjust models as necessary. Develop KPIs to track and communicate the business value from the solutions implemented. Interpret and communicate the results and recommended actions to the relevant stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner. Develop clear and intuitive data visualizations and dashboards in Tableau or PowerBI. Effectively communicate project plans, roadmaps and status, priorities with stakeholders and teammates in a timely manner. Provide guidance, feedback, training, development and support to junior data scientists and ensure the quality and accuracy of their work. Research and recommend new methods and technologies for data analysis and machine learning. Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in data science and related fields. Educate Stakeholders on data science use cases, methods and ethics Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and advanced degree preferred (Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative subject a plus) or seven to 10 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience: 6-8 years of proven experience leading collaborative data science projects with technical and non-technical stakeholders, driving and communicating tangible business value succinctly 4-6 years of development experience in an object-oriented programming language (Python 3.x preferred). Knowledge of software design (libraries, classes, functions), testing (logging, debugging), and versioning (Git, continuous deployment) Experience with machine learning platforms and cloud computing, e.g., Microsoft Azure ML (preferred), Amazon SageMaker, Google Vertex AI Demonstrated expertise in open-source libraries for advanced data analysis, statistical/machine learning models, and optimization, e.g. Pandas, Sci-Kit learn, Scipy, and OR Tools for Python 4-6 years of experience designing solutions with business intelligence, reporting, or data visualization software packages (Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Looker, Cognos, R Shiny, D3, Python matplotlib) Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to concisely convey analytical interpretation and/or data issues to business functions. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and competing priorities, and follow-through on committed deliverables using team-based project management with both Agile and Waterfall approaches to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
