  About the role

  What you need to know:

  The role of A&H Senior Complex claims adjuster is a dynamic and exciting position in an international environment. Working within the Accident & Health claims team you will be part of a highly motivated and experienced claims team, based in our office which is located in Brussels.

  Functional Responsibilities:

  As A&H Senior Complex claims adjuster you will contribute to our success by a timely, accurate and customer focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense, providing a high standard of customer service.

  Role description:

  Execution of the A&H Claims strategy and goals given by the Manager;

  Represent AIG interests with key customer and take responsibility for delivering the claims value proposition, technical skills or seniority to join an external meeting and add value;

  One of point of contact for A&H claims for internal stakeholders (Underwriting A&H) & external stakeholders;

  Handling a portfolio of around 300 files (Travel, Personal Accident, Personal Lines) : gathering relevant information, determine coverage, assessing and quantum analysis.

  Insight in various areas, including large losses, claims trend data and accountable for A&H claims contribution to the combined ratio in the context of Indemnity and Expenses;

  Adhere to and embed the Company’s risk policies, Statement of Operating Standards and any AIG policies, audits, controls and ERM procedures;

  Follow best practice claims practice in every facet of the A&H claims process, from loss notification to final payment, fraud oversight to recovery;

  Ensure a reputation of A&H Claims excellence and service delivery in the marketplace. Establish and maintain excellent levels of customer service, with particular attention to:

  Responsiveness – speed of service delivery

  Quality of service rendered

  Client prioritization

  Supervision booking of all the TPA’s bordereaux (mostly via Accenture) and reconciliation with accounting + Supervision of the transferred procedure of booking to Accenture.

  Leadership Skills:

  A&H claims experience required

  Collaborative approach across functions. Knowledge of / ability to navigate through AIG

  Technical Skills and Expertise:

  Experience of working in a highly regulated environment including ownership of internal control framework

  Ability to identify trends and loss causes

  Able to work in an International Environment

  Established strong relationships with customers and intermediaries

  Demonstrated business acumen and skills

  Core Competencies:

  Effective interaction with UW, brokers and clients

  Team spirit

  Driving total cost of claim & outcome improvement

  Making decisions that are in the best interests of AIG, its clients, distribution partners, shareholders and other stakeholders

  Knowledge and practical application of the Belgium regulatory environment
