  Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented and experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Bridge and Structures team! In this role you will get to work on some of the most exciting and impactful infrastructure projects that will positively impact your community!

Parsons was recently successful in pursuing an APD project encompassing multiple miles of segmental guideway supporting light rail traffic. As a new member of our bridge team, you will be expected to lead the design of the elevated guideway consisting of a precast, post-tensioned segmental superstructure. The superstructure design work will involve complex structural modelling as well as more traditional structural design techniques. Applicants with a solid background in the understanding of structural behavior are encouraged to apply. All superstructure design work will be based out of our local Denver office which is known within our company as a Segmental Design Center of Excellence. Willingness to travel to the project site is preferred but not required for this position.

Other ongoing projects staffed out of our Denver office include the structural modelling required to raise the bridge deck of an existing cabled stayed bridge, long span segmental alternatives analysis, and investigations into the novel use of segmental construction methods as applied to super-tall buildings, and multiple signature pedestrian bridges.

We have proficiency in all bridge designs including Long Span bridges, Segmental bridges, Cable Stayed bridges, Movable bridges and Suspension Bridges as well as conventional bridges. We are looking for a Senior Bridge Design Engineer to become a permanent member of our team of experts – to build bridges, enrich roadway networks, and improve the efficiency of transportation! If you are the right one for us, you see the design process as more than just a job, are passionate about the details and already have a few great projects under your belt!

  What You'll Be Doing:

Have the interest and ability to work on multiple bridge projects at once.

Determine creative and innovative methods and solutions for complex bridge engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives.

Assure that the bridges are designed in accordance with approved Federal, State and local agency requirements as well as following accepted industry practices and procedures.

Your deliverables may include structural designs for single and multi-span, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, precast concrete, segmental concrete, and steel bridges.

Provide structural specifications, estimating, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed engineering analyses.

Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.

Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a design engineer for a specific structure on intermediate to large scale projects.

Provide technical guidance to and management of CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

Act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

  What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Track record of steel or concrete bridge design required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

High knowledge level of MS Office tools, CAD proficiency (Microstation preferred), and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of industry standards and applicable structural engineering software specific to complex structures.

PE licensure required, SE licensure not required, but preferred.

  What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  Masters/graduate degree strongly preferred.
