　　Job Summary:

　　The 3rd Party Platform (3PP) team builds and maintains critical backend services responsible for supporting Disney streaming media subscriptions, including Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, and more! Through our services, users can seamlessly access Disney content when making a purchase via external parties. We are an agile team, always open to experimentation, and are committed to the growth and learning that comes from both success and failure. Technologies primarily include Scala, Cats Effect, Play, and AWS services. Experience in these is preferred, but not required. If you're open to learning new things, or excited to expand your skill set in these areas, this is the perfect job!

　　Responsibilities

　　Craft software for backend systems using Scala, Cats Effect, http4s, Play, Golang, and more, with strong software development fundamentals and strong design principles (object oriented or functional)

　　Work with a team of engineers building software in a collaborative development process, without being dogmatic about technology choices

　　Participate in the full-lifecycle of software development (requirements gathering, designing, building, testing and maintenance)

　　Take on a leadership role on the team, by being both a strong independent contributor, and supporting your teammates

　　Design and build RESTful web services that make use of relational and/or NoSQL DBs

　　Build automated testing at different levels (unit, integration, functional) and build resilient applications that handle failure gracefully

　　Basic Qualification

　　Bachelor or above in Computer Science or another comparable field of study or equivalent work experience

　　Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, delivering high-quality code

　　You have strong backend experience with Scala

　　You have functional experience with AWS services (ECS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Lambda, etc.) or other cloud providers

　　Preferred qualification

　　You have experience Cats Effect and/or Play frameworks

　　You're an expert in REST API semantics and idiosyncrasies

　　You have experience in the Subscription domain space

　　The hiring range for this position in New York is $142,600 - $191,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
