Job Summary
The role is to administer support and troubleshoot non-windows server environments. This includes but is not limited to configuring implementing and deploying systems, daily operational tasks, patch administration, support of development teams and use of various management tools.
Performs a range of straightforward assignments. Acts as a resource for team members with less experience. Established knowledge of fundamental theories, principles and practices in the area of specialization. Exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to solve problems of moderate complexity; seeks assistance in resolving more complex issues. Works under a moderate level of supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in installations upgrades and optimization of operating systems and hardware.
Provide patch management of the non-windows server environments.
Provide support for SAP\HANA team and other support teams.
Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company’s existing Linux architecture/infrastructure.
Document and maintain policies, procedures, and training for system administration.
Ensure integrity and security of enterprise data on servers, and systems.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills and Competencies
Experience with RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS operating systems
Experience with Command Line interface PowerShell and other scripting platforms
Strong understanding of virtualization platforms such as VMWare
Knowledge of Active Directory DNS and Group Policies
Strong customer service skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
At least 2 years of related experience
An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, MIS, or related field from an accredited College or University
2+ years of experience supporting RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS operating systems.
Experience building secure RedHat environments
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
