Kelly has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager with a long-established Mechanical Service company based out of the Gates – Rochester area. This is a Direct Hire position with a starting salary of $70,000 - $90,000 based on experience and an excellent benefits package. In this onsite 8 – 5 Mon - Fri role , you will partner with the CPA (who is also an owner) to continue company growth utilizing internal processes to reduce cost and maximize efficiencies. Our great partner is looking for someone with a hands-on approach that will take a confident lead in a critical position that has come open due to an imminent departure. Please note: manufacturing experience and expertise with job costing are highly preferred for this role
This position touches on HR, General Accounting, A/P & A/R, and inventory record keeping responsibilities. Our partner has about 15 employees and is truly a work family that embraces an “all hands on deck” mentality. Supervisory experience is also highly desired but not required.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Calculate and process payroll on partnership with the Accounting Clerk
• Annually review employee benefits, open enrollment, onboarding and offboarding employees and setup benefits when eligible
• Supply all required employee notices as it applies to benefits, submit 401k contribution and safe harbor match, and reconcile benefits billing to payroll deductions
• Prepare and manage necessary journal entries
• Reconcile bank accounts and communicate balances to President
• Complete all journal entries, generate and review financials, run reports, and report all sales and use tax quarterly
• Job costing accounting for refurbishment operations
• Complete all year end journal entries and reconciliations and supply information to both CPA and Tax Preparer
• Make any necessary tax payments to Federal, State and Local Tax authorities
• Oversee AP / AR work performed by bookkeeper, process invoices as necessary, pre-approve AP check run, and collect W-9 forms
• Review customer credit requests, setup new customers, and manage A/R collections and reconciliation
• Assist in other tasks as needed that typically arise for a small family business
Skills and Requirements:
• Accounting Undergraduate Degree and 5+ years general accounting experience
• Experience in manufacturing industry highly preferred
• Acute analytical skills, impeccable attention to detail, and a focus on monitoring internal control safeguards is critical for success in this role
• Expertise in preparing monthly financial reports and year-end account review required
• Experience with ERP accounting systems required
• High-level Excel skills
• Supervisory experience greatly preferred
• Minimum of three work references required if granted an interview by our client
