JARI is looking for a Senior level Accountant to join our growing team in Johnstown, PA. The JARI organization has multiple companies which this position will help to complete monthly closing procedures by maintaining support for all accounts to prepare accurate financial statements. In addition, this staff will be responsible for creating invoices or reports for a variety of grant programs. As an important member of our accounting staff, this position may process and record loan transactions, as well as help with processing day to day activities.

General Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, performing administrative duties to support the accounting, financial reporting, and control functions; achieving goals as established in the Accounting Department's annual operating plan; coordinating work within the department, complying with operating policies and procedures established for the accounting function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.
Essential Duties
Performs various duties to support the accounting, financial reporting, and
control functions of which the following are illustrative:
Ensures that the organization's general ledger is maintained properly; reports any action to correct accounting-related errors or problems to supervisor to determine appropriate action to correct general ledger.
Responsible for the preparation of financial statements for all companies that JARI staff are responsible for. Duties include preparing monthly journal entries, gathering supporting documentation to support all account balances for the company accounts and researching any unusual transactions.
Will serve as backup to process accounts payable for JARI, JIDC, Enterprise Venture Capital Corporation, Greater Johnstown Regional Partnership, and JARI Growth Fund. May assist with annual 1099 reporting.
Responsible to process and reconcile accounts receivable by:
Creating and sending appropriate grant invoices on a monthly, quarterly or other scheduled basis as required in grant documents.
Will serve as backup for receiving, filing, and posting accounts receivable checks; delivers deposits to bank; records and files deposits.
Verify accurate accounts receivable balances monthly.
Review loan account transactions, reconciling balances and assist with any required reporting for our loan programs.
Will serve as backup for payroll bimonthly processing and may assist with quarterly and annual reporting.
Helps with annual audit by preparing trial balances, spreadsheets, confirmations
or gathering various documents to support account balances.
Gathers financial information for annual report or as nee ed for various inquiries.
Assists with preparing program and annual budgets.
May assist with the maintenance and repairs at various facilities owned by JARI
and affiliates.
Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness
Achieves goals assigned to the Senior Accountant as part of the Accounting Department's annual operating plan.
Coordinates other specific work tasks with supervisor.
Complies with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the organization's adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
Communicates with Chief Financial Officer in order to integrate goals and activities.
Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area by discussing with CFO.
Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned financial reports.
May assist with policy development and review of various program documents for
compliance.
