Job Description
The Accountant supports the Accounting Manager in completing cash management tasks, maintaining reconciliations, reviewing contracts and preparing reports, financial statements and journal entries, in accordance with US GAAP and AECOM policies. Strong knowledge and background in accounting and analytical skills are needed when developing best practices throughout the geography. The role also requires proficiency in English and French both written and spoken.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain schedules for projects
Assist with monthly close processes.
Complete monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
Prepare and assist with development of monthly and quarterly internal and external financial reports
Prepare ad hoc analytical analysis in a timely manner
Propose and implement improvements to existing analysis and develop additional analysis as needed.
Responsible for petty cash replenishments and bank funding for projects.
Prepare cheques and wire payments for projects, ensure backup is analysed and complete.
Prepare sales tax and withholding reports for external accounting firms for several projects.
Prepare general accounting and financials for small international operations.
Assist in additional accounting projects as directed by the Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
CPA
Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
Minimum of five years accounting experience preferred.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, advanced.
Oracle experience (or comparable ERP system) a plus.
Bilingual (French & English)
