Senior Accountant
Currently working with a growth stage biotechnology company that is doing well and growing the business. The position will support the Controller and handle a variety of general accounting tasks, complex accruals, project management activities, etc. Excellent culture and leadership team. Qualified candidates will have 3-5+ years of general accounting experience within biotech as well as complex accrual experience. Please for further consideration.

responsibilities:
Enliven
The Senior Accountant will play an active role in supporting the financial close process, including preparing various complex accruals, journal entries and account reconciliations, processing payroll, and supporting the Company's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities, among other duties. This individual will report to the Controller and work 100% remote.
Responsibilities
Actively participate in monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities
Collaborate with R&D and other internal/external personnel and review contracts to obtain the required information for the preparation of complex month end accruals, including clinical trial, CMC, research, etc.
Prepare journal entries as assigned
Prepare monthly account reconciliations
Perform payroll processing
Perform accounts payable processing and check runs (AP backup)
Process expense reports (expense report backup)
Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) policies and procedures
Assist in the preparation of the prepared by client (PBC) schedules during the quarterly reviews and annual audit
Coordinate the provision of auditor-requested SOX/audit testing selections
Assist with budget/forecast preparation, as needed
Perform other duties as required
qualifications:
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or business or equivalent work experience
4-5+ years of general accounting experience required
Life sciences experience preferred
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines with limited supervision
Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all departments, management levels within the Company, and external stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
NetSuite experience a plus
Paylocity payroll processing experience a plus
Prior experience with SOX compliance a plus
West Coast or Mountain time zones preferred
