  Summary DCSA is seeking an individual with knowledge and experience in the Information Security, OPSEC, and Disclosure disciplines; bringing excellent communication and collaboration skills, interest and ability to partner across multiple organizations; brings experience with use and maintaining DoD Systems of Records and databases with accuracy and efficiency; and has interest and experience with DoD policies, regulations, manuals, and instructions. Responsibilities As a SECURITY SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties: Interpreting DoD regulations, policies, manuals, and operating instructions for the Industrial Security Program. Originating, drafting, reviewing, and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), drafting policies, reviewing policies and procedures, and drafting responses. Tracking status of initiatives. Partnering with other Directorates and Organizations providing excellent communication and collaboration in support of the Mission. Maintaining various systems of records and databases with accuracy and efficiency. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG 07 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Interpreting DoD regulations, manuals, and Operating Instructions for the Information Security & CUI, OPSEC, and Disclosure Programs. Originating, drafting, reviewing, and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and procedures. Ensuring compliance with Security policies related to OPSEC, INFOSEC, CUI, and Disclosure. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: .Communications-Communicate (i.e., written, and oral) rights, responsibilities, management directives, policies, and/or regulations to employees, supervisors, and/or other pertinent individuals. Security Program Management Accountabilities-Manages security implications (e.g., strategic, personnel, infrastructure, policy enforcement, emergency planning, and other resources) for a program or other area of responsibility. Customer Service-Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement. Interpersonal Skills-Develops and maintains effective working relationships, especially in difficult situations. Engages and inspires others. Treats others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect. Considers and responds appropriately to the needs and feelings of different audiences/ situations/cultures. Actively solicits feedback. Security-Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines related to securing personnel, facilities, and information, including the requirements for handling, transporting, and protecting classified information and proper reporting of security incidents. Integrity/Honesty-Contributes to maintaining the integrity of the organization; displays high standards of ethical conduct and understands the impact of violating these standards on an organization, self, and others; is trustworthy. Education If substituting education for experience, at the GG-07 level, you must possess a bachelor's or equivalent degree. For the GG-09 level, a Master's or equivalent degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such as degree or LL.B. or J.D. Superior Academic Achievement does not apply to DCIPS positions. If substituting education for experience, transcripts MUST be provided. Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position. Additional Information VETERANS PREFERENCE/CURRENT OR FORMER FEDERAL In accordance with DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, veterans preference is not required to be applied when considering candidates with prior Federal competitive or excepted service who have completed a probationary or trial period and have not been separated for cause. Therefore, veterans preference will not be applied to applicants with current federal service, or former federal civilian service meeting the above criteria.
