Position DescriptionPRIMARY PURPOSE:To account for all individuals entering and exiting the facility and to patrol the premises to ensure the security of the facilityESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Identify all individuals entering the facility and ask for appropriate documents to verify identificationComplete roving patrols to ensure security of the facilityMonitor marine radio for interfacing with ships entering the portUse two-way radios to communicateReport irregularities to Facility Security Officer or other designated individualCall 911 in the event of an immediate emergencyPerform safety orientation for visitors and third partiesMaintain various records and logsCheck weight of trucksAssist in scheduling casual part-time on-call employeesComply with all Kinder Morgan safety proceduresParticipate in company training and safety programAdhere to all Kinder Morgan policies and proceduresPerform other duties as trained and directedPosition RequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE / SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:Prior experience as a security guard preferredMust be able to communicate and comprehend clearly, verbally and in writing, in EnglishMust be able to understand and comply with all requirements for any emergencyMust be able to take direction / supervision and work cooperatively with other peopleCERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC clearanceMust have and maintain a drivers license and be insurable by company insurance carrierCOMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Successful completion of background checkMust have PC literacy and software navigation skills in a Windows-based environmentMust be able to work with a team, follow written and verbal direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention to details and follow work rulesPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of timeSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.WORKING CONDITIONS:Will be required to work outside in all types of weatherWill be required to work various shifts as assignedOvertime, weekend and holidays may be requiredSubject to work upon 24 hour to one month notice, depending on vessel scheduleEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER STATEMENT: We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.Equal Opportunity Employer - minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
