We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Production Manager 4 in East Peoria, IL.

  The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

  Job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminating unsafe processes

  Ensures that processes are followed to meet business metrics

  Determines priorities and manpower

  Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staff to meet flow and customer requirements

  Increases production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination

  Implements a Lean culture

  Evaluates, assesses, identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training

  Value Stream Mapping

  Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members

  Monitor SAP / EWM transactions and grief

  Drives root cause corrective action projects and continuous improvement

  Leads section status reporting and monitors key KPI’s

  Leads the creation, implementation and training of standard work procedures

  Basic Requirements:

  Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way. Raises awareness of potential bottlenecks and disruptions to processes. Breaks tasks into manageable steps that can be incorporated into a personal work plan. Escalates concerns over competing or conflicting priorities. Monitors progress continuously and adjusts tactics for handling situations on a case by case basis. Creates action plans that ensure the accomplishment of responsibilities.

  Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services. Streamlines the critical workflow for executing key processes. Sets priorities for addressing process problems that limit performance. Develops methods for improving and establishing controls for critical processes. Monitors external sources for applicable new methods and controls. Analyzes findings from improvement cycles to ensure success of interventions. Coaches others to develop the skills to improve processes.

  Manufacturing Operations: Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products. Monitors organizational adherence to policies and procedures. Facilitates communications across departments to ensure a smooth workflow in the plant or facility. Evaluates the risks and safety hazards present in Logistics functions. Supervises daily operations to ensure Logistics support is adhered

  A nalytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Seeks discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information. Organizes and prioritizes the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy the situation. Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research. Quantifies the costs, benefits, risks and chances for success before recommending a course of action. Approaches a complex problem by breaking it down into its component parts. Chooses among a diverse set of analytical tools according to the nature of the situation.

  Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  Bachelor degree in Manufacturing or Supply chain discipline

  Knowledge of Aftermarket parts and Transportation

  Demonstrated experience with SAP

  Lean experience

  SAP power user experience

  Material handling experience

  Additional Information:

  This position does not offer relocation and is located in East Peoria, IL

  This position is on 1st Shift (7am-3pm)
