Join us at Ames CSD, where your talents are recognized, and you have the opportunity to grow in a supportive and dynamic community.Ames CSD is seeking a Therapeutic Classroom Teacher for the AMES Center for the 2024-2025 school year. Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  Demonstrates the ability to enhance academic performance.

  Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position.

  Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.

  Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students.

  Uses effective classroom management strategies.

  Fulfills all the responsibilities of the IEP: timely and current progress monitoring, uses progress monitoring to guide instruction, etc.

  Works collaboratively with other educational professionals.

  Engages in professional growth.

  Creates a sense of belonging and welcoming environment for all students and staff.

  Attends work on a consistent and punctual basis.

  Performs other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications:

  Valid Iowa teaching license.

  5-12 Strategist Strategist II: LD/BD or willingness to obtain required.

  Ability to pass a background check required.
