Position Summary:
The technical position of the lab assistant is to perform image analysis of radiological medical data. This position is for a student or casual employee who processes data and develops deep learning models. After an initial training period, the person will work closely with the faculty. They will assist in the collection and annotation of patients' image data. Moreover, they will assist with data entry and literature searches for research papers and manuscripts. They will keep written logs of their work in lab notebooks.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide needed information to principal investigators, and other researchers. Updates notebooks, records and databases as needed
Complies with all government and university policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
Performs other duties as assigned
Certification/Skills:
Communication: Good people and communication skills required
Good knowledge in biology and statistics and basic understanding of programming skills in Python, MATLAB
Good verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Experience:
Entry level program ability to develop advanced software to use for database searches and statistical data analysis.
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
