Combustion Turbine Commissioning fieldservice engineer is responsible for providing field technical services forSiemens Energy combustion turbine-generators and associated auxiliary systemsincluding commissioning, fact finding, trouble shooting, combustion dynamics& emissions tuning, and periodic support of new unit installations.
How You’ll Make an Impact(responsibilities)
• Metrology field service engineer is responsible for providingmetrology and alignment field services for Siemens Energy turbine-generators.These services will leverage CAD and GD&T experience utilizing portable CMMequipment and long- and short-range scanners.
• Modal Analysis / Vibration field service engineer is responsiblefor providing modal analysis, vibration analysis, and balancing field servicesfor Siemens Energy steam and combustion turbine-generators.
• Steam Turbine Commissioning field service engineer is responsiblefor providing field technical services for Siemens Energy steamturbine-generators and their associated auxiliary systems includingcommissioning, fact finding, trouble shooting, valve stroking and timing, andperiodic support of new unit installations.
• Responsible for ensuring that working conditions are always safe.Travel with little to no advance notice to Siemens Energy customer sitesthroughout the US and internationally. Up to 80% travel required. Strongleadership and organizational skills with the ability to lead a crew ofmechanics and interface with multiple levels of customer organization.
• Good verbal communication skills with the ability to fluentlyspeak, write, and read in English.
• Complete and submit detailed reports covering all job activity.Have flexibility to work overtime based on workload and can work bothindependently and within a team environment with the ability to lead the team.Innate desire for process improvement and sharing of lessons learned.
What You Bring(requirements)
• Completed Bachelor’s Degree (or high school diploma/GED withequivalent experience) in Engineering/Engineering Technology preferred and 5years of experience to be considered for a level 7.
• Candidates with 8 or more years of experience may be consideredfor a level 6 position
• Previous field experience in the Power Generation or Oil and GasIndustries with advanced knowledge in one or more of the following technicalareas:
• Commissioning (turbine-generator auxiliary systems)
• Combustion Dynamics Tuning
• Metrology and Alignment
• Modal Analysis
• Vibration Analysis
• Turbine-Generator Startup and Operations (T3000 knowledge a plus)
• Analytical, detail oriented, well organized. Proficiency inMicrosoft Office Suite software particularly Excel and Word are a must.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and following technicaldrawings, schematics, and written work instructions/procedures is required.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the UnitedStates without need for current or future employer-sponsored workauthorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may beeligible for internal transfers.
• Thisa Seasonal Engineer position, you may select between the 1664, 1560, and 1248tier Seasonal hour programs. You should expect to work away from your homelocation an average of 150-200 days per year with about 70% travel. Individualassignments are typically 2 to 10 weeks in duration. When on assignment, workingschedules are typically 10-12 hours per day, 6-7 days per week, day, or nightshift. Seasonal engineers may live where they want as long as they are locatedwithin a reasonable distance from a major airport.
