Description
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Scientist IV/ Senior Scientist to join the Antibody Generation Group within the Biotherapeutics Discovery department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. The position offers an exciting opportunity to conduct in vivo and in vitro experiments to support our drug discovery efforts for biologics. You will be an integral member of the Antibody Generation group and will make major contributions to the generation of best-in-class and first-in-class therapeutics to address unmet medical needs.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Hands-on experience with flow cytometry including design, execution and data analysis with commercial flow cytometry software including FlowJo and BD FACS Diva.
• Experience with multi-parameter FACS/cell sorting (Aria, Fusion or Melody).
• Experience with the design and execution of cell-based assays.
• Experience with isolating and phenotyping primary immune cells using flow cytometry.
• Experience with immortalized and primary cell culture techniques is preferred.
• Hands-on in vivo experience conducting rodent experiments including animal handling and dosing by various routes (IP, SC, or IV) and collection of blood and tissues is preferred.
Requirements
Scientist IV
• Requires a Master's degree plus 6 years industry experience in related field or a Bachelor's degree plus 10 years industry experience in related field or equivalent.
• Requires a sufficient working knowledge of a technology employed in the skill center such as protein engineering, lead generation and associated immunology, protein expression and purification, analytical biophysics of proteins, advanced mass spectrometry to efficiently provide pertinent results.
• Ability to work within a collaborative team environment and present and defend results to project and technical teams.
Senior Scientist
• Requires a PhD in related field such as Immunology from an accredited institution with six-plus (6+) years of experience in a related scientific discipline.
• Requires an advanced knowledge of a technology employed in the skill center such as protein engineering, lead generation and associated immunology, protein expression and purification, analytical biophysics of proteins, advanced mass spectrometry.
• Experience in biologic drug discovery and characterization
• Experience in project management
Compensation Data
This position offers a base salary typically between $111,000 and $183,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance-based bonus and or other compensation elements.
