Job details Pay: * $15 - $19 an hour Job Type: * Part-time Shift and Schedule: * No weekends * No nights * Day shift * After school * Monday to Friday School Site Teacher Position Sylvan Learning Centers of West Michigan Sylvan Learning Centers of West Michigan is looking for dedicated teachers for its contract program in the Greater Grand Rapids Area for this upcoming school year 2023-2024. This position will start in August/September 2023. We have positions in Grand Rapids, Grandville, and Rockford. This position will offer flexible work schedules both during school hours and after school hours at our school sites. Schedules vary from 4 to 20 hours per week. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: * Attend training sessions to learn the Sylvan programs and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in elementary, middle, and/or high school level math, reading, and/or writing skills. * Deliver Sylvan provided individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans. * Be able to deliver lessons on iPads, Chromebooks, and PCs. * Ensure supervision of students at all times, including escorting students safely to and from classroom. * Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by company, local, state, and/or federal agencies. * Must have reliable transportation. * Must be willing to work in schools in the Greater Grand Rapids area. * Must pass background check. * Other duties may be assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a bachelor’s degree or two years of college classes in a related major. A Teaching Certificate and tutor/teaching experience preferred.
