About School Aides/Monitor

　　Duties and qualifications:

　　Under the supervision of the teacher, the aide will:

　　Provide support to special education students as per Individual Education Program (IEP) mandate;

　　Integrate special education student(s) into a group setting;

　　Support academic instruction;

　　Facilitate social interactions between special education students and their peers;

　　Integrate special education students into general education settings when appropriate;

　　Implement behavior intervention plans and collect data as per plan;

　　Provide assistance with self-help skills and Activities of Daily Living *Experience working with students in a school environment preferred.

　　Job Qualifications

　　Position requires Nassau County Civil Service clearance. Candidates will be required to be fingerprinted in compliance with New York State Education Department regulations

　　High Scool Diploma Required
