About SAS Program Manager

  The Program Manager is responsible for the successful management or delivery and operations, supporting one large or multiple smaller accounts within the Systems and Software Group. The Actalent Systems and Software Group supports programs involving Embedded Software, Full Stack Software, Hardware Engineer, and Test Automation. The Program Manager will work closely with our internal support functions to deliver a great customer experience while providing leadership and direction to our project teams and ensures that all projects meet their Cost, Quality and Timing requirements. This role requires maintaining and growing relationships with key customer stakeholders and Actalent consultants to continually enhance program performance in support of customer business goals. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain regular communication with Actalent consultants working onsite at client locations to monitor and manage career path, performance, training needs, and overall employee satisfaction

  • Maintain regular communication with Actalent client managers to receive feedback on Actalent consultant performance, project status, and to report on budget and other metrics

  • Understand the responsibilities and qualification of new client openings, create job descriptions, communicate with Actalent Talent Acquisition on those requirements, discuss sourcing strategy, and conduct interviews.

  • Collaborate with Actalent client managers to discuss future project pipeline and strategize with internal Actalent management on how those client needs will be solutioned.

  • Strategize with Actalent SaS Sr. Manager on how to add value for the client through transitioning from onsite consultants to project based engagements

  • Strategize with Actalent SaS Sr. Manager on the marketplace and technology trends of the Industrial Products vertical and the Off Highway Heavy Machinery segment or Smart Building Technologies and Building Automation segments.

  • Manages program risks and issues and ensures effective contingency and action planning.

  • Following Actalent Quality Management Systems processes

  • Work with Actalent finance and invoicing groups to ensure that internal operations processes are followed.

  Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in software, computer, or electrical engineering

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing engineering programs

  • Minimum of 3 years of technical management involving product development

  • Experience with engineer resource management

  • Experience with gathering requirements from customers (internal or external) to determine options for program management strategy.

  • Experience with project budget tracking including involvement in cost and pricing estimates

  • Ability to effectively present to large customer groups

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with managing large, dispersed teams with diverse capabilities

  • Problem solving, influencing, and negotiation skills

  • Team player with ability to work in a highly cross-functional and virtual environments

  • Ability to travel when needed, up to 40%.

  • Highly proficient in PC applications - MS Office suite of tools.
