  Position Purpose:

  With the guidance of the Vice President of Operations, the Safety Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and administering environmental and occupational health and safety programs to ensure applicable legal compliance and create and maintain a safe and secure working environment. Manage facility security and disaster preparedness planning. Focus on onboarding, OpCo policies, DOT compliance, post-incident investigation as well as retraining.

  Responsibilities:

  Deliver safety programs within budgetary guidelines. Track safety initiatives for program effectiveness.

  Educate Drivers to work safely with proper PPE as well as use of ramps, handcarts, and lifting techniques.

  Observe Preferred Movement Methods (PMM) of Drivers.

  Decrease "lost days from work" and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) recordable incidents.

  Identify annual safety performance goals.

  Audit safety procedures and implement health and safety training programs.

  Conduct respective training and retraining sessions.

  Attend training programs to obtain and maintain professional certifications.

  Performs any duties as assigned to best serve the company.

  Required Qualifications:

  Required Education:

  High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

  Required Experience:

  4 - 6 years of a Combination of management and transportation safety training oversight experience, and/or DOT safety & compliance work experience; Intermediate computer skills to include MS Office Suite and Outlook.

  Preferred Education:

  Bachelors Degree in Risk management, safety, operations management, logistics, business management or related field.

  Preferred Experience:

  6 - 10 years of a Combination of transportation supervision and/or DOT safety/compliance work experience; Advanced computer skills including experience with PeopleNet, DriveCam, Vigillo/CSA systems; Foodservice distribution industry experience.
