  Salary Statement:

  The salary for this position traditionally starts at $75,010 and may be commensurate with education and/or work experience.

  Role Overview:

  The Safety Quality Assurance Director will oversee the implementation and execution of child safety quality assurance statewide. This position will oversee 3 Quality Assurance Analysts who will be performing checks and audits on the most at risk children involved in CHINS cases. This director will review the analysts work and ensure cases are reviewed timely and appropriately to ensure health and safety of children in Indiana.

  A Day in the Life:

  The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  Analyze reports and findings

  Utilize Continuous Quality Improvement tools to effectively choose solutions to problem solve based on findings of program

  Oversee safety quality standards and adherence to fidelity of developed tools

  Create aggressive timelines and goals for child safety quality program and analysts

  Provide regular, ongoing feedback and coaching to direct reports

  Provide feedback and proposed solutions to field and legal executive leadership

  Track and monitor progress and utilize effective measurements for program success

  Evaluate (3) quality assurance performance through direct observation, written reports and customer feedback

  Develop expectations for Safety Quality Analysts that adhere to state and federal safety expectations

  Establish and lead a Monthly Safety Advisory Team: Safety QA, Field Representative (N, C, S -RM, one ADD ), Staff Development Representative, Legal Representative to discuss safety trends and needs each month

  What You'll Need for Success:

  The ideal candidate in this role should minimally have either

  • a Master’s Degree preferred

  • a Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience in a child welfare safety decision-making capacity with a minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory role

  You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Possess highly-developed skills and expertise in organizational leadership, management of complex organizations, supervision and communication

  • Advanced knowledge of child welfare, child safety and child risk

  • Advanced knowledge of the federal and state laws and regulations that apply to DCS services and programs

  • Advanced ability to present and explain complex concepts to diverse groups of people

  • Broad knowledge of human service delivery systems

  • Broad Knowledge of change management and conflict resolution

  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local government operations

  • Proficiency in software applications for tracking work and creating reports with visual data

  • High level of professional judgement

  • Knowledge of data analytics and familiar with the following data sets: Safety assessments; Safety Culture survey; Safe Systems Improvement Tool (SSIT) data; repeat maltreatment; and Child and Family Services Reviews Items 1-3.

  • Able to work independently and autonomously

  • Advanced ability to solve complex problems

  • Flexibility of hours to meet customer needs for reviews

  • Advanced ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and representatives

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced ability to effectively establish priorities, deploying limited resources in an environment having a wide range of competing demands and deadlines

  Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

  This role may provide direct supervision for one or more staff members.
