Kapco Inc. is looking for a Safety Engineer at ourGrafton, WI location. This position is a change agent and culture keeperthat develops and designs systems to protect people from illness,injury, and property from damage. Primary Responsibilities Develop,design, implement, sustain, and monitor compliance of safety systems,standards, practices, and policies that prevent people from getting sickor injured and keep property from being damaged. Review plans andspecifications for new machinery and equipment to ensure safetyrequirements are met and participate on safety analysis for new productdevelopment. Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting andauditing facilities, machinery, and safety equipment. Verifyimplementation of corrective and preventative actions. Review employeesafety programs and recommend and implement improvements. Train newemployees in safety orientation. Train workers in safety standard work,safety work instructions, practices and procedures as assigned. Assistteams to arrive at the root cause(s) and to develop an action plan andfollow up system that eliminates reoccurrence. Investigates workplaceaccidents. Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies,regulations, and industrial processes and ensure compliance. Maintainsafety database for incident reporting and investigations, audits, andsafety data sheets (SD) on the shared drive and SDS books as necessary.Provides other safety related support as needed or requested,participates on teams as needed, and completes other projects and dutiesas assigned. Education & Experience Requirements A bachelor\'s degree inenvironmental health & safety, engineering or similar discipline ispreferred. Three to five years relevant work experience in amanufacturing environment. Able to effectively communicate at allorganizational levels.
