Overview
The Job in a Nutshell:
The Safety & Security Administrator is responsible for supporting Natural Grocers' initiatives and assists team leaders in video review, incident investigation/closure, and recommends strategy regarding safety and security of the Natural Grocers locations. The base hours for this position are 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Tuesday through Saturday. Due to the dynamic nature of the Safety & Security industry some flexibility in scheduling will be necessary to accommodate special projects and emergency response. This position does not involve any in-store security or loss prevention duties.
Responsibilities
Main Ingredients:
Understands and maintains strict compliance with the law and NGVC policies concerning safety, security, and loss prevention.
Assigns and closes incidents involving safety, security, and loss prevention in the incident management tool.
Confirms gathered information by exporting and preserving video evidence.
Provides incident documentation/video of loss causing and injury incidents to upper management and when required, proposes recommended course of action.
Develops and maintains strong working relationships with other departments including but not limited to Operations, Human Resources, and Finance
Assists in the surfacing, investigation, and resolution of loss causing incidents.
Participates in incident review of customer and Crew accidents and injuries.
Utilizes critical thinking skills and root cause analysis to determine advisory courses of action.
Ensures security cameras are functional.
Reviews security footage as needed.
Maintains security logs and reports.
Documents all security incidents as required.
Partners with team leaders and suggests additions or edits to safety and security policies, procedures, and programs.
Maintains extreme confidentiality of all related information.
This position will have minimal travel when necessary.

Qualifications
Recipe for Success:
High School diploma and GED required
2 years previous retail loss prevention/asset protection experience preferred
WZ (Wicklander-Zulawski) certification preferred
OSHA General Industry 30hr certification preferred
Basic knowledge of progressive loss prevention methods and shrink strategies
Must possess a friendly and professional demeanor
Must be detail oriented
Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all situations
Ability to operate and troubleshoot network camera systems
Able to work independently and make quick, sound decisions
Able to problem solve difficult situations
Must be able to recommend solutions from both a local and global management perspective
Open availability, including weekends is required.
Intermediate experience with standard PCs and business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.) required
Experience with video editing and file formatting preferred

Must have the ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 20 lbs.

Must be able to constantly use the computer for data entry and use of mouse
Must be able to constantly sit, use fine motor manipulations, and grip.
Must be able to occasionally walk, stand, bend, twist, turn, squat, kneel, reach above chest and reach outward for the duration of shift
Environmental Requirements:
Must be able to work constantly with noise.
Must be able to work frequently with outside, cold, heat, wet/humid and contact stress.
Must be able to work occasionally with outside, sharp tools/equipment, electrical hazards, heights, dust/fumes, vibration, and congested worksite.
