Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Leads and directs engineering and sciences involved in research, development, analysis, design, and test of Non-destructive and Dimensional Inspection and Metrology. Establishes strategic direction pertaining to technology development activities required to meet current and future Spirit business objectives. Interfaces with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company goals. This managerial role will support defense and commercial applications.
· Integrates technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into project plans to comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements; documents results in drawings, data sets, reports, specifications, and supporting data.
· Facilitate direct, and lead multiple disciplined/functional groups, both technical and nontechnical, in order to accomplish common goals/objectives.
· Apply knowledge of a wide range of regulatory agency requirements and company policies and procedures to ensure process/project/program compliance.
· Establish resource requirements and manage allocations; establish and evaluate performance· coach, plan, organize Individuals; and oversee process/project/program activities. Leads and directs engineering and sciences organizations.
· Well demonstrated project management skills are necessary.
· Develop collaboration partnerships with Universities, Government Agencies, sub-tier suppliers, and global partners to accomplish organizational, goals/objectives.
· Establish oversee and administer processes, policies and practices and determines resource requirements, acquisition, and redeployment plans."
· Work with subordinates to establish and evaluate employee performance plans.
· Interface with other organizations customers, suppliers and regulatory agencies to define and evaluate accomplishment of project and program priorities."
· Prior experience in establishing requirements, and testing of metallic systems and associated process development used in the fabrication of metallic components.
· Experience in the design and fabrication or sub-scale equipment followed by full-scale design/development/procurement is desired.
· Working knowledge or machine tool fabrication and assembly techniques would be beneficial.
· Translate engineering and scientific concepts from preliminary ideas through product life cycle.
· Apply knowledge of design development disciplines to manufacturing equipment, equipment systems and associated special tools.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Deep knowledge of nondestructive inspection and measurement development preferred.
· Aerostructure fabrication and specification knowledge preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal skills working cross functionally across teams.
· Experience budgeting projects, and forecasting resource needs.
· Analytical, demonstrated ability to deconstruct requirements and prioritize accordingly.
· Strong leadership ability, ability to motivate and hold people accountable.
· Keen eye for details and a focus on continuous process improvement.
· Exceptional time management skills.
· US Citizenship Required.
Educational Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution.
· Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
