Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
· Research, develop, design, and test methodology and processes to apply principles of inspection theory and metrology concepts to new projects.
· Experience with geometric dimension metrology or non-destructive inspection techniques for Aerospace manufacturing.
· Apply knowledge of scripting, signal processing, algorithm design and development and data processing for current and next generation inspection and metrology systems.
· Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks for inspection and metrology.
· Oversee research and development efforts to assure projects are planned and completed on time and within budget.
· Defines and performs projects to mature concepts, technologies, and processes understanding full life cycle requirements for product and process development.
· Assist in developing capital projects for new inspection and metrology equipment.
· Supports innovative additive manufacturing processes and advanced technologies for new aerostructures.
Qualifications
Requirement:
· 5 to 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
· 3 to 8 years of Master’s degree
· 0 to 3 years with PhD
· Experience building interpersonal professional relationships
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
· Educational credentials or equivalent from an ABET-accredited engineering program Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering Degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Metrology software suites (Verisurf, Metrolog, Polyworks, SpatialAnalyzer (SA))
· CAD Design (Catia), Rapid prototyping, computer programming (C++, python, ROS, OpenCV, 3D rendering, MATLAB)
· Data processing, scripting, signal processing and algorithm development
· Experience utilizing various Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Office 365 and Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word, Teams and Visio
· Experience in the following areas: Customer Interface, Change Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Risk Management, Affordability Management, Product Configuration Management, Development and/or sustaining programs, Earned Value Management, Developing Proposals and Estimating, Integrated Program Planning and Scheduling, Cross-functional project management
· Experience with Continuous Improvement/ Lean/ Industry 4.0/ World Class Manufacturing
· Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing and supply chain
· Team player, very detailed oriented
