About RN-Nurse Educator, EXCEL - Twin Cities Orthopedics

  Description In addition to his/her patient care responsibilities, the EXCEL Nurse Educator will support the EXCEL Nurse Manager in staff education, perform annual competencies of Care Suite staff, assist with new hire orientation, maintain files of Care Suite staff, and assist in compliance and quality initiatives. This is a part-time position (0.75 FTE) working 8-16 hour per pay period as a Nurse Educator, with the remainder of the FTE being in patient care. The EXCEL Nurse Educator will travel across all EXCEL locations and cover both day and night staff education. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Maintain staff HR files with current BLS and licenses for RN and CNA staff Complete monthly OIG/SAM on EXCEL Staff Manage Educare assignments and staff compliance with completion Complete annual competencies on-site with staff: Hemocue Kardia Straight Cath IV start Butterfly bladder scanner Additional competencies as identified Travel to sites to assess compliance with documentation logs Hemocue hi/low testing Hemocue RN checks Eyewash station testing NICE deep cleaning Refrigerator temps Dishwasher temps AED Additional compliance logs as identified Participate in new hire/orientation tasks Compile all needed documents Meet with staff for Mantoux Perform chart reviews and collaborate with EXCEL nurse manager on educational opportunities Complete data entry in Case Management Software as needed Assist in planning content for bi-annual EXCEL staff meetings Attend EXCEL meetings with EXCEL or TCO leaders as needed Willing to travel to all sites for day and night shifts Other duties as assigned Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an NLN accredited school of registered nursing. Current licensure as a RN in the State of MN or WI multi-state required. Two years of post-operative care or critical care nursing experience in the last 3-5 years preferred. Current CPR certification required or completed upon hire. Essential Requirements: Ability to: Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines. Complete job required training.
