ABOUT THE ROLE:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Patient Care Services, coordinates the staff and services provided on the Med/Surg Floor. Acts as a resource for training, mentoring and orienting staff. Coordinates the staffing and on-call of the department based on acuity, census and staff availability. When needed, provides professional nursing care for a select group of patients for a designated time frame according to established policies and procedures. May be requested or required to be on call. Assists Director to ensure policies and procedures are accurate and current for all aspects of care falling within the Med/Surg Unit.
This position has the responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and or care of patients in the following age groups:
Adolescent (12/16) 1% Adult (17/64) 64% Geriatric (65+) 35%
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience One year acute hospital experience as an RN
Minimum Education Associates Degree
Preferred Experience One year acute hospital experience as a Charge RN
Preferred Education National Certification - Med/Surg or related field
Required Licensure/Cert. Current CA RN License
CPR, ACLS Certification
Skills - Other Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to build effective working relationships, demonstrated supervisor skills/abilities, proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite

Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
NOC shift receives and additional $5.00/hour + an additional 5% on the weekend + an additional 3% if they have a BSN or MSN.
