Earlier start time maybe needed occasionally. Hours are subject to change. Holiday Rotation:None Weekend Rotation: None On Call Requirements: None POSITION SUMMARYProvide assessment and treatment of patients, providing quality,professional nursing care, and assisting medical provider with medicalprocedures as requested. POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Utilizesthe nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluationin all patient encounters. 2. Performs nursing procedures, includingtherapeutic phlebotomies and allergy injections. 3. Assists medicalprovider with processing of diagnostic results bringing significantvalues to the provider\'s attention. Have knowledge of tests andprocedures and their significance as related to patient care. 4. Assistsmedical provider with procedures as requested. 5. Administers medicationby all routes. Demonstrates and understands administration techniques.Recognizes the implementation of dosages, interactions, side effects,adverse effects, routes of administration of drugs as they apply toindividual patients. Uses knowledge of medications in instructingpatients about medication therapy. 6. Triages/screens telephone callrelated to patient care. Obtains appropriate information with attentionto detail and accuracy (i.e. using direct symptom related questionsKeeping patient focused.) Makes nursing assessment utilizing, theory andjudgment, and patient information. Implements appropriate care usingnursing assessment, critical thinking skills, protocols, and standingorders. 7. Performs delegated medical acts and provides supervision asneeded in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act to the LPNs andunlicensed personnel. 8. Assesses patient status to determine need fortreatment or intervention in life threatening situations. Participatesusing emergency standing orders if needed, or under the directsupervision of a medical provider. 9. Manages patient flow and performspatient rooming workflows as requested. 10. Collect laboratory samples.11. Schedule referrals/outpatient diagnostic procedures includingpatient prep information and coordinate prior authorizations. 12.Establishes working relationships teaching protocols for patienteducation, family counseling and general public information. 13. Takes aleadership role in the facilitation of department functions includingmentoring new staff and ensuring policies & procedures are followed. 14.Leads and participates in site process and policy improvement teams. 15.Cross train and staff other clinics as needed. 16. Assists in thedevelopment and implementation of policies, protocols, standing ordersand quality assurance standards.
