Our patient population includes: Sepsis, CHF, COPD,ESRD, DM, UTI, GI Complications, Sickle Cell and much more. As anorganization, Froedtert offers at least 9 weeks of orientation with adedicated preceptor and positive mentoring in a hands-on learningenvironment. Froedtert is unique in that there is no mandatoryover-time. Skills that will be used in this unit include: Foleyinsertions, trach cares/suctioning, G-Tubes, wound cares, NG insertions,IV/central line medications, PCA pumps and wound vacs. The RegisteredNurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning,implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group ofpatients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstratescompetency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population. TheStaff RN-Inpatient job description has incorporated essential functionswhich are adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice,2nd Edition (2010).
