Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates, supervises and is accountable for safe professional nursing care of patients within an assigned department. The RN must be able to prioritize work and duties well and must work well under stressful situations. They have to demonstrate good communication and customer service skills with a variety of patients, physicians, and other health care providers both internal and external to the organization, and must make accurate clinical decisions and judgments quickly. Demonstrate proficiency in understanding and calculating medication dosages, and demonstrate thorough knowledge of the side effects and hazards of various pharmacologic agents administered.

• Demonstrates working to achieve goals set previous evaluation

• Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct at all times

• Shows functional and technical knowledge and skills to effectively perform and manage assigned patients

• Adheres to standards of practice, policy and procedure to ensure appropriate patient focused care.

• Demonstrates an awareness of cost containment and endevours to conserve where posilble.

• Maintains good working relationships with other team members, physicians and other hospital departments.

• Documents and delivers all aspects of patient care efficiently and effectively

• Practices all disciplines required for Pre-admissions to hospital, Core measures.

• Partiicipates in Performance Improvement Activity

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

Registered Nurse must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

Associate Degree required, Bachelor degree preferred

Current RN Licensure in the State of Texas

6 months to one year of clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred
