  Ridgeview is seeking an RN at our Critical Assess hospital in Arlington MN. As a critical access hospital, our nurses care for a variety of patients including opportunities to work in our Medical Surgical Unit, Emergency Department and Urgent care. Purpose of Job: This part time position is responsible for the delivery of individualized patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Care and Practice as defined by Ridgeview Medical Center, the Minnesota Nurse Practice Standards Act, and the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. Job Functions: Assesses patient health problems needs and develops, implements and evaluates patient care plans accordingly. Provides nursing care. Advises and educates patients, family members and significant others on health maintenance and disease prevention for the patient. Documents and maintains accurate medical records and reports. Participates in quality improvement activities as appropriate to position. Serves as a patient advocate in seeking appropriate community resources to meet patient needs. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers, other healthcare providers, and colleagues to enhance own professional nursing practice. Demonstrates competencies in the specialty area of . Performs other duties as assigned. When functioning as a Charge Nurse: 1. Manages flow of patients through inpatient and/or outpatient departments. 2. Assigns resources to care for patients and arranges staffing to ensure safe patient care. 3. Provides work direction and addresses issues during the shift. 4. Acts as a liaison between staff, patients, and physicians. 5. Demonstrates unit specific Charge Nurse competencies. 6. Reviews physician orders. When functioning as a Charge Nurse Manages flow of patients through inpatient and/or outpatient departments. Acts as a liaison between staff, patients, and physicians. Demonstrates unit specific Charge Nurse competencies. Review Physician orders. Minimum Education/Work Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or if licensed in another state, a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing while the license application is in process BLS Certification ACLS, TNCC, and PALS within 6 months from hire date Charge: 1 of more years of acute care experience in RN role ACLS, PALS, or ENPC and TNCC or CALS within 6 months of hire Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Demonstrate critical thinking and decision making Ability to work autonomously and as a team, including during cares, admitting, discharge planning Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to work and multi-task in a high stress and fast paced environment Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligend with position functions License/Certifications Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or if licensed in another state, a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing while the license application is in process BLS Certification Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing 1-3 years of nursing experience in Med/Surg unit TNCC or CALS ACLS PALS or ENPC CEN CMSRN #LI-ES1 Ridgeview Medical Center will not discriminate against or harass any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, citizenship, national origin, age, disability, military servic , veteran status, genetic information, union membership, creed, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity, status with regards to public assistance, membership in a local human rights commission, or any other category that may be protected by law.
