Description
We are looking for a program manager to lead our regional efforts in JP. You will have the opportunity to design and launch new policies, tools, initiatives to tackle product quality challenges across JP. You will partner with numerous Amazon teams including Retail Categories, Marketplace, Operations, Fulfillment Centers, Legal, Compliance. This is an opportunity that requires a critical thinker with strong problem-solving and communication skills. At the core of the position is passion for protecting Amazon’s reputation and the customer experience and trust.
Key job responsibilities
The program manager is required to
Understand a broad range of risk techniques and methodologies and apply knowledge of the risk area to develop and maintain compliance programs with inputs from legal and business partners
Understand stakeholder needs, problems, known and unknown risks, and incorporate their context into project plans and risk related activities
Conduct risk assessments related to existing process and product assortments
Recommend and design appropriate risk mitigation measures to corporate compliance, including process and system changes
Drive productive discussions with stakeholders and team members, and escalate appropriately, both through verbal and written communication
Partner with Tech and Product teams to design innovative solutions to ensure customer safety and mitigate legal risks in changing landscapes
A day in the life
We are continuing to develop and expand our anti-abuse technology, processes and programs in Amazon stores. The program manager is required to support ongoing projects and improvement of systems through influence behavior, project planning skills with legal and business partners, and inspiration abilities across functional teams.
Deep dive and analyze data to identify opportunities for product quality improvement.
Design new initiatives and processes to tackle product quality challenges.
Develop relationships with internal stakeholders locally and around the world to drive new initiatives/processes.
Track program progress and provide visibility to leadership.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
6+ years of experience in program management
Ability to understand, troubleshoot, and describe complex technical processes and issues
Ability to manage multiple projects at once and work under time pressure
Demonstrate passion for problem solving and building innovative solutions
Experience applying analytical skills to solve problems and creating data
-driven solutions
Comfortable making quick, calculated decisions in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational skills with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
Experience developing and presenting to large groups (including senior executives), and comfortable discussing and defending ideas, both verbal and written
Basic Analytics: Ability to run basic SQL queries and dive deep in excel
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in relevant industries like Risk Advisory and Consulting, Fraud Investigations and Detection, Law, or IP protection
A globally approved certification in project management such as PMP
Knowledge of SQL to build data metrics independently
Knowledge of project tracking tools and building process workflows
Proven communication (both written and verbal), presentation and persuasion skills ; demonstrated success in building buy-in for an innovative, bold, strategic vision
Demonstrated people skills, with ability to build trust and create and lead working groups to tackle complex issues
Business level Japanese due to work requirements
