  A Revenue Account Specialist (RAS) is responsible for capturing revenue timely and accurately while being able to understand how the revenue is applied. The RAS will be able to answer revenue related questions regarding the location(s) in which they are required to audit.

  Duties and Responsibilities

  Read and understand tariff and contract pricing.

  Audit railroad revenue moves.

  Correctly apply receivable and payable charges per contract specifications.

  Ensure proper entry (either manual or automated) of all invoices for corresponding billing periods.

  Generate invoices and send to customers as soon as they are created.

  Respond to any invoice disputes timely.

  Enter and maintain charge rules and charge codes within operating systems for all current and future contracts and tariffs.

  Consistently improve existing processes that will achieve improved customer satisfaction and improved profitability for the long-term.

  Utilize information technology services to maximize the revenue and data integrity and increase efficiencies.

  Applying common sense, such as the ability to create and analyze reports to come to conclusions.

  Provide training of new hires.

  Continually review, update, and streamline written processes and automation.

  Be able to meet or exceed all internal and external customer needs.

  Handle multiple projects at once, while ensuring everything gets completed timely.

  Review and/or correct information to protect the integrity of the data whenever errors are discovered.

  Other responsibilities may be assigned, as required.

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  A successful candidate is an individual that has a positive CUSTOMER FIRST focused approach in performing all tasks in addition to the following:

  Ability to read, interpret, and/or write documents such as procedure manuals, emails, and workflows.

  Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts and tariffs.

  Ability to create reports to analyze and share internally and externally.

  Ability to understand detailed conditions of a contract and translate those conditions into system “rules” to apply revenue and payables correctly for system automation.

  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs, and pivot tables.

  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in dynamic situations.

  Ability to travel (occasionally).

  Ability to use Microsoft programs proficiently, such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

  Ability to use SAP, RMI, WATSS, and any other software systems necessary to perform job functions (strongly preferred, but not expected). Training will be provided; however, individual is responsible for learning to proficiency.

  Be able to easily jump between software systems to work through tasks.

  Ability to prioritize, multi-task and keep track of open projects/tasks that need to be completed.

  Must be a self-starter with the ability to stay on task without constant supervision.

  Must work well as team player with a positive attitude.

  Work Environment/Conditions

  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time while working on a computer.

  Education/Experience

  Required: Two to Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Business, Accounting, Communication, etc.)
