Essential Duties
Inventory Management:• Regularly review inventory levels, sales transactions, and stock movements to optimize product availability.
• Conduct thorough analysis of cost and margin, identifying exceptions, shrinkage, and discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve inventory and sales-related issues, providing detailed information to management for informed decision-making.
Financial Analysis:• Provide valuable insights and perspectives on inventory, merchandise payables, and profit financial line items.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in merchandise-related financial performance.
Accounting and Reporting:• Oversee the accounting, analysis, and reporting of inventory and merchandise payable transactions.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions related to merchandise, adhering to accounting principles and standards.
Vendor Relations:• Collaborate with vendors to address and resolve invoicing issues, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.
• Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with vendors to optimize cost-effectiveness and enhance overall vendor relationships.
Month-End Close:• Take a lead role in ensuring all month-end close activities related to inventory and merchandise transactions are executed on time.
• Conduct comprehensive account reconciliations, addressing reconciling items promptly to maintain accurate financial records.
Position Requirements
• 7+ Years experience in a senior merchandise management role, preferably in retail or a related industry.
• 5 Years In-depth knowledge of merchandising principles, inventory management, and retail operations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Leadership experience with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
• Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
• Ability to work with others in a team environment; demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
• Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches.
• Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend process improvements.
• Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to present positions to both accounting and non-accounting associates.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and / or as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, problem solving and follow through.
Travel Requirements: As needed to meet service-level requirements and for required business meetings

Salary range $85-95/hr W2. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
