JOB REQUIREMENTS: This employee is responsible for participating in theperformance of the day-to-day activities of the Respiratory CareDepartment, including but not limited to therapy procedures, in serviceeducation, tracheotomy and ventilator management and weaning, as well asinterdisciplinary care with both core and ancillary staff. This employeeis also responsible for the completion of the therapist\'s duties bothfor general population of the facility, as well as home care whennecessary. * Performs any and or all duties of the respiratory careprogram as required * Adheres to Policy and Procedure * Adheres towork schedule * Also responsible for assisting in emergency coveragewhen the need arises * Consults with family members, physicians, andother health care professionals as appropriate * Takes on active rolein in-service education of employees as well as the community * Assistwith Q.A. and other reports as requested * Assists with on call forcompany needs * Provides updates consistently to supervisor for changesand patient status * Participates in checking for safety, care, andcleaning of equipment and maintenance of the department * KEYINTERFACES * Patients & Patient families * UnitPulmonologist/Physician/Nurse Practitioner * Facility staff(physical/speech/occupational therapy, social services, nursing, corecare group) * Regional Hospitals & Home care (referral sources) *Respiratory Therapy Staff/Peers * Unit Manager * REQUIRED CRITICALBEHAVIORS * Will need to cope with the demands of both patients andfamilies * Will need to maintain patient and employee confidentiality* Must demonstrate professional demeanor and appearance * Must haveability to gain and maintain thorough knowledge of paperwork and applypolicy and procedure appropriately Lincare is an equal opportunityemployer, access and affirmative action employer.
