Description
Position Summary: Director of Hospitality leads all aspects of campus events and accommodations, including lodging, food and beverage management, housekeeping, attractions, internal and external events, weddings, and guest services. This position has a focus on exceeding top line revenue, efficiently managing finances, operating procedures, and developing the hospitality team while collaborating with the internal departments.
Essential Job Functions:
Consolidate all aspects of Unity’s hospitality planning and operations to provide authentic, one-of-a-kind experience for our guests, adhering to quality, service, cost projection, and safety standards.
Establish collaboration and continuity between Events, Outreach, Hotel, Airbnb’s, Golf Course, Weddings and Café liaison with experience in multi-unit food, beverage and accommodation operations.
Set strategic direction, determining priorities, decision making and identify new opportunities to expand event and lodging offerings with executive leadership.
Research of the hospitality market and implementing best practices.
Create yearly strategies for increasing revenue across hospitality operations and offerings.
Maintain and create property aesthetics, offerings and design to support hospitality offerings.
Ensuring all campus guests feel welcome in a friendly environment by periodically surveying guests during or after their event to ensure they are happy with their accommodations and event outcomes.
Ensuring that all hospitality staff are trained properly on customer service techniques and operational procedures.
Identifies and leads the pursuit of the targeted new business and contract expansion opportunities.
Evaluate levels of event satisfaction and monitor trends, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Leverages a client-diagnostic sales strategy and consultative approach to uncover client specific issues and/or opportunities to improve inclusion.
Establishing and enforcing rules of conduct to ensure that all guests feel safe and comfortable on campus.
Managing the daily operations of the hospitality team including hiring and training staff, developing, and implementing policies, and ensuring that all standards are being met and team members reach their full potential.
Ensure optimal staffing levels to provide excellent service standards for all events including engaging freelance friends and maintaining salary budgets.
Maintaining a strong relationship with all departments to ensure that all event details are communicated to and executed by all departments makes for a wonderful event experience for clients.
Partner with marketing staff to execute sales strategies to meet sales goals and objectives and to improve in-market engagement opportunities.
Manage budget preparation,weighingcosts and benefits of potential actions. Prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds.
Establish regular and reliable attendance. Must be able to work flexible schedule and establish a flexible team schedule to meet the business necessity of a 7-day operation during the busy season.
Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the employee guidebook, including all safety guidelines.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
Complete and monitor the flow of required forms and paperwork. Maintain support systems within the Hospitality department.
Prepare reports and analyses reflecting progress and trends of retreat season.
Qualifications
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent proven work experience.
Experience:
5 years leadership experience preferred in Hospitality or Lodging
Experience managing Food and Beverage services and events management
Experience with Food and Beverage management platforms
Comfortable using a variety of software platforms for scheduling, ordering, inventory, and venue management.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of report development and financial planning
