  How you make a difference

  The Residential Treatment Assistant plays a critical role in providing front-line support to residents in the living units, continuously monitoring resident and unit activities to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. As a member of the treatment team, the Residential Treatment Assistant works collaboratively to ensure the well-being of residents and the overall functioning of the living unit. Through their vigilant monitoring and active engagement with residents, the Residential Treatment Assistant contributes to creating a supportive and safe living environment for residents in need of treatment and care.

  Key Responsibilities

  Assists in implementing the Integrated Care Plan for residents under the guidance of Clinical Team Leader, Clinical Therapists, and Psychologists.

  Promotes and maintains a therapeutic milieu on living units, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents.

  Collaborates with Educational and Vocational Instructors, Recreation Specialists, and Unit Manager to implement unit-based activities and enforce policies and procedures.

  Participates in behavior committee meetings, Integrated Care Plan reviews, and living unit group meetings with residents.

  Observes, intervenes, and documents resident behavior, conducts searches for contraband, and maintains accurate logs and reports related to resident activities, behavior, and movement on the living unit.

  Qualifications & Requirements

  Education

  High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required

  Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work or criminal justice field preferred

  Experience

  Direct care experience in a mental health or forensic mental facility, security residence or correctional facility preferred.

  Healthcare, mental health or human services experience a plus.

  Licenses/Certifications
