  Job Description

  The Social Media Manager leads social engagement as an integral part of the ODUGlobal Marketing and Outreach team. The position serves as a strategic, multi-platform content creator, guiding a high-level, on-trend social strategy to increase brand visibility among key audiences while reflecting the vision and mission of ODUGlobal. The Manager develops and implements social media best practices to drive enrollment.

  Considerable knowledge of various social media platforms, their respective audiences, and best practices for organic and paid social media. Working knowledge of graphic design tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and video editing software. Strong professional writing and editing skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  Demonstrated ability to develop creative, compelling, and persuasive visual communications furthering strategic marketing objectives. Demonstrated ability to translate complex ideas into digestible social media content. Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively with other team members, identifying resources and approaches to achieving job goals and outcomes.

  Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a broad range of internal partners, including leadership, faculty, staff, and students. Demonstrated ability to remain up-to-date with the latest social media trends and industry developments.

  Level and type of experience

  Considerable experience at a professional level developing and implementing social media strategy and managing branded social media accounts for a large organization. Considerable experience demonstrating an understanding of content strategy, community management, and engagement tactics. Considerable experience utilizing social media management tools, dashboards, analytics programs, scheduling applications, and monitoring tools. Considerable experience applying analytical skills to generate insights to get results.

  Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

  Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, with a focus on customer service.

  Considerable experience with higher education and social media marketing. Considerable experience managing social media in a professional setting. Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or other related fields of study with work experience to equate a master’s degree in a related field of study.

  Conditions of Employment

  There may be occasions where the employee will be asked to work during a University closing as directed by their supervisor.

  This is an open until filled recruitment. This recruitment may close after the five-day required posting period when a suitable pool of applicants has been generated.

  This is a fully remote position. Equipment and computer systems will be provided. Candidate will be responsible for ensuring access to a dedicated office space and high speed internet access.

  Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary range between $ - 53,000 - $58,000
