SummaryOriginates mortgage loans, promotes the financial institution and its lending services to the real estate community and helps to identify and serve the community financial needs through seminars and sales meetings and by participating in and promoting the financial institutions community activities.Essential FunctionsSolicits mortgage loans, informs prospective loan clients of the financial institutions underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations. Establish relationships with and calls on Realtors, Builders, Developers and other professionals in order to increase mortgage activity and expand mortgage referral network. Completes each loan application and all processing functions in a timely manner, explains documents to applicants and ensures accuracy of the mortgage file. Screens loan requests based on bank policies and determine what mortgage program best meets customer needs. Personally answer incoming phone calls, schedules appointments and communicates complex approvals or denials to the borrowers, real estate agents or builders. Maintains full knowledge of all government, secondary market and internal policies and procedures to insure compliance. Register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLSR), obtain a unique identifier number, update information as required, and annually renew registration. Comply with all of the requirements of the S.A.F.E. ACT. Attends mortgage loan closings for the first time homebuyers and follow ups, post-closing, with all customers.
Secondary Functions
Actively participates in local business and community activities and maintains close contact with local builders, real-estate brokers and agents, customers and prospects. Maintains knowledge about new legislation and regulations that may affect the bank residential lending policies. Promotes and participates in the bank special credit programs and other CRA programs. Consistently employ cross-sell and referral practices to identify and recognize opportunities to expand and retain customer relationships. Understanding of compliance regulations governing job function and completion of all assigned compliance training. All other duties as assigned.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
