Construction Owners Representative - Central Indiana & Travel
We are actively hiring an Owner's Representative/Inspector for work being done across Indiana! This person will be supporting Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants, Underground Water Lines, and Underground Sewer Lines. Job Responsibilities:
Remain on the job site for the entirety of the project’s construction
Conduct on-site observations to monitor progress and quality of work with the contract documents
Serve as the engineer’s liaison with the contractor
Maintain adequate records, including a daily logbook and a set of drawings on which authorized changes are noted
Maintain detailed reports as required of progress of the work and of contractor’s compliance with the progress schedule
Review progress schedule, shop drawing and sample submittals, schedule of values, and other submittals prepared by contractor
Review applications for payment with contractor for compliance with the established procedure for their submission.
Attend meetings with contractor, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences, and others
Assist engineer in serving as owner’s liaison with contractor and obtaining additional details or information as required
Forward any recommendations to the assigned engineer
Comply with site safety programs
Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Professional experience in Construction or Construction Inspection of Underground Utilities Systems (i.e.: Water Lines, Sanitary Sewer Lines, Stormsewer Lines, Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants)
Ability to read Civil Construction Plans and Specifications
Must be willing and able to Travel to Project Sites and Stay Overnight for Projects when needed
Must be willing to Work Outdoors in all Weather Conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
Previously successful candidates have come from one of the following experience profiles:
Option 1 = Laborer, Foreman, or Operator with 5+ years of experience in Underground Utilities and/or Treatment Plants
Option 2 = Construction Inspector with Civil Inspection experience (i.e.: INDOT Inspectors or Water/Wastewater Inspectors)
Option 3 = Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Construction Technology with 0-2 years of experience
Travel Expectations and Ideal Locations:
Candidates must be open and willing to travel (overnight). They will stay in hotel/apartment for projects. They need to be good with staying away from home.
This firm has projects all throughout the State of Indiana and will do their best to keep people as close to their homes as possible. However, candidates will need to go where the work is and be willing to work out of town.
Candidates will use their own personal vehicle and be reimbursed 65.5 cents per mile
Projects that are within 1-2 hours of the persons home are typically a commute back and forth. If the commute to the project site is over 90 minutes then the company will look to see what is more cost effective (i.e.: Daily Mileage or Hotel/Apartment)
Hotels will be paid for directly by the company. At times, candidates may be set up with an apartment, which will also be paid for.
Per Diem will be $40 per day when traveling.
Compensation Ranges:
RPR 1: $28-31/hour
RPR 2: $32-34.50/hour
RPR 3: $34.50-38/hour (this would need to be a very qualified individual)
