Flexible Position Includes Evening and Weekend AvailabilitySummary Description: To enrich lives and promote resident wellness atthe Loomis Communities through quality, person-centered servicestargeting social, emotional, cognitive, financial, physical andspiritual health throughout the continuum (IL, AL, NC). EssentialFunctions: Performs job functions in a manner consistent with themission and goals of the Loomis Communities. Adheres to The LoomisCommunities Compliance and Ethics Program. Demonstrates an awareness of,a respect for, and attention to the diversity of the people with whomthey interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and otherstakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.Plans, coordinates and assists to implement a monthly calendar ofinnovative recreational programs to meet the needs and interests ofresidents. Promotes personalized recreational opportunities by providingmaterials to residents and adapting activities as needed to ensuredignity and equal participation from all residents regardless of theirabilities or preferences. Collaborates with various departments tocoordinate and implement campus-wide special events, including themedparties and seasonal events. Forms, maintains and manages relationshipswith volunteers, entertainers and other service providers. Participatesin interdepartmental leadership meetings, quality improvement meetingsand resident council meetings, to ensure resident satisfaction and tocontinually improve quality of services through collaboration. Completesall assessments and documentation with residents and family members asneeded, assuring that Resident Engagement department promotes theindividual needs, preferences and interests of residents using aperson-centered approach. Allocates funds appropriately for functions,entertainment, services and supplies. Works with the Director topurchases new equipment and supplies as needed by while demonstratingfiscal prudence. Provides oversight and mentoring. Works collaborativelywith interdepartmental co-worker to ensure service standards are met.Assists in departmental training, huddles, events, and new team memberonboarding. Ensures that proper scheduling and appropriate staffinglevels are maintained. Provides coaching and performance feedback toDepartment Leader. Qualifications Preferred Education A Bachelors degreein therapeutic recreation or a related social or human services field.Preferred Experience A minimum of 1 year of related experience.License(s) Preferred) CTRS certification. Skills/Competencies Ability toapply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished inwritten, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involvingseveral concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to read,write, and speak English. Ability to speak effectively before groups ofresidents, family members and others. Basic math skills, includingadding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing various units of measurefor programming purposes and the purposes of managing a budget. Abilityto relate well to all residents, including the emotionally upset.Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members,visitors, volunteers and the public. Knowledge of operation of audiovisual equipment. Ability to report to work regularly and promptly.Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary.
