　　Position Overview:

　　Eurasia Group is seeking a motivated Researcher of China who can generate insights through our “politics first” lens. The position is open at the researcher level, this is an entry level position.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Candidates should have research experience surveying Chinese-language primary sources including academic research, government policy, and news articles to collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative datapoints on key topics.

　　Topics you will focus on include:

　　--Chinese politics, political economy, and industrial policy; --Public discourse on economic policy toolbox --Fiscal and financial developments such as bond defaults, local government and real estate developer debt resolution, and trust product defaults --Financial flows to and from China --China’s responses to sanctionsYou will analyze these issues from the perspective of what matters for Eurasia Group’s financial, corporate, and government clients. We have a diverse and growing client base, so candidates must have the range and flexibility to research and analyze new areas and quickly respond to new developments.

　　You will operate at high functional levels and perform in-depth analysis under tight deadlines, as well as deliver frequent oral briefings

　　Requirements:

　　Candidates must have excellent analytical and presentation (oral and written) skills.

　　Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese skills are required.

　　Work experience or a demonstrated capacity for analyzing China,

　　Degree in political science, international relations, economics, Chinese studies, or another relevant discipline.

　　Previous consulting experience and in-country China experience are preferred.

　　Quantitative research skills are desirable but not essential.

　　Applicants will work in the firm’s Washington DC or New York offices. All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
