*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: *
Minimum of two years secretarial training at a college or business school and/or three years of office experienceKnowledge of accounting proceduresWorking knowledge of computer programs including Word, Excel, and database programsKeyboarding of 60 WPM (a skills test will be given to all finalists)Demonstrated knowledge of standard office machinesDemonstrated outstanding communication and interpersonal skillsMust be flexible and cooperative with community members, staff and administrationPhysically able to stand, sit and lift as necessary to complete job requirementsPre-employment requirements include Washington State Patrol and FBI fingerprint background clearances*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: *Experience working in a school district
JOB GOAL: To ensure efficiency of district office operations by performing a range of clerical and administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain confidentiality and initiative in performing job functions.Respond to the public in a cordial, courteous manner in person, in writing, by telephone and by email.Answer main district phone line.Sort and route mail, distribute all inter-district communications, and act as a distribution center for various outside organizations according to district policy.Prepare and deliver parcels for mailing or shipping.Provide onboarding paperwork and instructions to new employees and volunteers.Manage district clock hour offerings process.Check and verify reports for accuracy.Operate equipment such as computers, copiers, calculators, and postage meters.File office documents.Assist with accounts payable procedures for all funds.Assist with verifying and entering payroll information from employee source documents including timesheets, absence management system, and other documents.Assist with time and effort reports according to district guidelines.Assist with compiling and distributing school board meeting packets.Assist with EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) data entry and reports.Assist with ordering and receiving supplies.Assist with monthly student enrollment count report.Assist with home-based instruction list and reports.Assist with nonresident student choice transfer process.Assist with staff travel arrangements.Assist with scheduling meetings, interviews, etc.Perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent and business office staff.*REPORTS TO: * Superintendent and business manager.
*WAGE RANGE: * $20.00 -- $26.91 hourly wage dependent upon experience.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a confidential position and is not part of the classified employee bargaining unit.
GENERAL BENEFITS: Employees anticipated to work at least 630 hours per school year (September 1 -- August 31) and their families are eligible to be covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, and long-term disability insurance through the School Employees Benefit Board (SEBB). Employees may choose to enroll in the District's 403b and deferred compensation plans. Position earns 11 sick days per school year prorated according to hours worked per day.
