They will primarily focus on assisting me with carrying out population genetic simulations to understand how evolutionary history shapes genetic risk of disease in humans. Essential functions: 40% conduct experiments: Perform computer simulations with the following software: msprime and SLiM. The simulations will be designed by me and implemented by the Researcher on the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute cluster. 40% Analyze data: Analyze the data generated from the computer simulations using standard methods. The analysis will also be designed by me and implemented by the Researcher. 20% Presentation of results: Generate plots and weekly reports of the analysis conducted in the previous week. Qualifications All required qualifications must be documented on application materials Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computational biology, genetics, or other related field, or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 4 years. Knowledge of programming, preferably in R, python, and bash scripting. Preferred Qualifications: Independent and organized, and strong communication skills.
