Position Summary
Provides services of cutting-edge genomics technologies to the Weill Cornell Medicine community.
Job Responsibilities
Performs Next Generation Sequencing experiments that involve working with nucleic acid samples.
Operates real-time PCR and regular PCR, laboratory semi-automated and other supporting laboratory equipment.
Performs routine equipment preventative maintenance and minor repairs as required.
Monitors and identifies the ddH2O system that may occur from the improper performance.
Coordinates laboratory activities with teammates and customers.
Maintains experimental records and orders lab supplies as needed.
Education
Bachelor's DegreeExperience
Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science and genomics related work experience required.
Minimum one-year commitment due to a substantial training effort associated with the position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Willingness to learn and develop new techniques.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to plan and prioritize work while responding flexibly to rapidly changing priorities.
