Position Summary/Description:
This Research Technician position will be responsible for conducting various laboratory experiments under the supervision of the principle investigator with an emphasis on craniofacial skeletal muscle regeneration. The researcher’s primary responsibility will be to carry out the goals of research project associated with craniofacial muscle stem cells. These goals will necessitate that the selected candidate perform work with animal models, stem cell isolation using FACS , cell culture, immunocytochemistry, real-time qPCR, and western blot. The selected candidate will also collect and record data as specified in developed protocols as well as assess accuracy, validity, and integrity of data. The research technician will also assist other McKay laboratory personnel, graduate students, and volunteer researchers as needed. In addition, the research technician will contribute to the organization of the laboratory by performing administrative tasks. The selected candidate will be expected to have the technical knowledge to be trained to perform the duties, the ability to follow instructions through a standard work process, the ability to perform routine and repetitious tasks, and the ability to observe, monitor, collect, and record data.
This is a time-limited position for a duration up to two years (6/30/2026).
Education and Experience:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
