  Job Description

  AECOM is seeking out a well qualified and motivated Senior Civil Engineer with a background in highway and roadway design for a great role in our Colorado Springs, CO office.

  Senior technical resource which will serve as technical advisor for team

  Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.

  Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

  Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.

  Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

  Prepares technical specification sections.

  Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

  Initiate and create project designs and drawings/plans for transportation and/or civil design projects

  Perform detailed design including preparation of complete calculation packages and development of details.

  Guide drafting team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.

  Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications

  Prepare and contribute in the development and implementation of technical approach in projects in collaboration with the Project Manager

  Oversee the work of less experienced designers.

  Meet with clients to ensure client needs are met

  Qualifications

  Minimum Qualifications

  BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Preferred Qualifications

  Professional Engineer (PE - Colorado)

  Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering + 10 - 15 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  Experience with design software including MicroStation and OpenRoads

  Familiar with MS Office software (Excel, Word, Project)

  Experience designing highway/roadway systems in Colorado.

  Previous design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)

  Experience with Business Development/Client Relations

  Additional Information

  Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation for this role in Colorado will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $80,767.00 - $149,406.00 annually.
