Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or a closely related field.Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher). One year of research experience in the following techniques: spatial frequency domain imaging, structured illumination microscopy and endoscopy for cancer imaging, in vivo optical imaging, diffuse optical spectroscopy, and imaging. Experience in optical, optomechanical, electro-optic systems, structured light illumination, spatial light modulators (DMD), digital light projection (DLP), CCD cameras, LEDs, lasers, hardware control, and signal acquisition using NI DAQ card, NI LabView. Experience with Microsoft Office.Brief Description of Duties:
Stony Brook University has a research engineer position in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The incumbent will take an active part in developing optical imaging technology based on spatial frequency domain imaging, and then design and run research experiments and ensure that all research protocols follow the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. The qualified candidate should be highly motivated and enthusiastic with interests in optical imaging, and biophotonics. Duties:
Assist with developing /adapting instrumentation.Perform experiments, data analysis.Participate/assist in the preparation of manuscripts for publications in peer reviewed and/or scientific journals.Assist with grant proposals and grants applications to include writing proposals for the research project, identifying funding sources, and training opportunities.Assist with lab operations management, may assist in supervising students and research support position(s). Will provide training on specific specialized skills and research methods.Other duties as assigned.Special Notes:
